Top 5 Vegan Trader Joe's Finds

Top 5 Vegan Trader Joe's Finds | Outbound Herbivore

by Sean Willis

It was difficult to keep this list to just 5, but these are our favorite vegan finds from Trader Joes!

1. Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls

As Christopher says, I like my sweets! These Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls from TJ’s have been called “accidentally vegan”, but I don’t care! They are vegan, plain and simple - no dairy, eggs, or butter. They are super easy to make, the frosting is delicious, and take just about 15 minutes to get nice and fluffy. When it’s cold out on a Sunday, and you wake up, pop these in the oven, it’s the PERFECT winter morning treat.

2. Vegan Pad Thai

Quick vegan pad thai - how can you say no?! This pad thai takes just minutes to microwave, and then it’s ready to serve. It’s a good serving size and tastes incredibly close to the real thing. Of course, because it’s about $4, it may not compare to your $14 sit down thai meal, but it’s a great quick option when you are craving Pad Thai. Ps - It doesn’t have much spice, so I’d recommend adding some chili flakes or chili paste to give it a pop.

3. Chicken-less Mandarin Orange Chicken

One of my favorite vegan go-to’s are TJ’s Chicken-less Mandarin Orange Morsels. I love the orange sauce it comes with, SO GOOD! Rather than being like breaded and fried orange chicken pieces, these are light and crispy, almost like chicken nuggets. When they’re battered in the orange sauce though, paired with some white rice, you cannot go wrong! Super filling and delicious. Get a rice cooker and you have a full on meal that’d normally cost $15.

4. Dark Chocolate Orange Sticks

This should come as no surprise another sweet treat is on the list. But I LIVE FOR THESE DARK CHOCOLATE ORANGE STICKS. They are everything. If you haven’t had them, just give them a try. It sounds weird, but no one I know that’s tried them disliked them. The outer shell is a nice dark chocolate coating, while the inner is a gummy-like soft orange filling.

5. Miyokos Cream Cheese

Miyokos Vegan Cream Cheese hits the spot. This cream cheese is delicious and resembles the texture, consistency, and deliciousness of real cream cheese. In my opinion, it’s not as heavy either which makes this a MUST HAVE from TJ’s.

Don’t forget to grab their Everything Bagels (also vegan!) to put this on. In Seattle, they’re reportedly from Blazin’ Bagels, a great shop in Sodo that supplies the local TJ’s - although in store they are TJ branded.

Let us know what you think about these finds and would love to hear what your favorite TJ Vegan finds are as well!
